European technology and waste treatment systems for Uzbekistan

Uzbek companies and public agencies have expressed their interest in acquiring European technology and innovations to modernize their industries and drive the country’s economic growth.
This was confirmed by the Iberian companies participating in the business mission organized by ACIR Southern Europe last September. The mission enabled the establishment of institutional, commercial, and strategic relationships with various Uzbek organizations and business groups.

European technology for solid waste treatment

One of the most important meetings was held with the state unitary enterprise specializing in waste and trash management in the country. Together, they analyzed the work carried out by the authorities and the status of cooperation with third countries.
They expressed their interest in incorporating advanced technology and exploring cooperation possibilities for an exchange of experiences with leading organizations in European markets.
Eduard Gulian, CEO of ACIR and head of the business mission, outlined the opportunities offered by the Europa.Sur program for Eurasian companies. This program includes commercial representation, project management with European firms, financing, and a wide portfolio of projects, complemented by a high-level contact database.
He also explained that ACIR has been developing projects in the solid waste treatment sector with Spanish companies for several years. These projects have stood out for their quality, financing possibilities, and ease of implementation.

Spanish companies to participate in projects in Uzbekistan

As a result of the negotiations, they agreed to create several working groups focusing on the various areas of interest to the Uzbek side. These teams will analyze the current situation of the topics to be developed, draft a development plan, and propose applicable solutions.
In addition to mobilizing more Iberian enterprises, ACIR will invite sector-specific technology centers to share their knowledge with their Uzbek counterparts. This will take place within the framework of a cooperation agreement aimed at long-term collaboration with educational institutions from both countries.

Opportunities for Spanish companies

The agreements reached in Tashkent open up a complementary opportunity for Spanish and Iberian companies in this field. In statements to local media, the CEO of ACIR explained that the Alliance’s work specifically consists of providing a wide range of companies that offer services in the sectors it promotes.
This is made possible through its venture execution system, which allows for the diversification and customization of each initiative according to the client’s needs.

“We are aware of the potential of Spanish companies in Eurasian markets. That is why we believe our proposal has been well received by our Uzbek partners, who have highlighted the quality of European products and services. We will call upon our Iberian partners to join the group of companies that will explore opportunities to work in Uzbekistan,” Gulian told local media.
Finally, he referred to the working methodology that the parties will adopt to achieve tangible results in the short and medium term.

“The work does not end with this visit. It has been agreed to create working groups that, in the coming days, will establish a roadmap. This will include the participating companies, their proposals, and the conditions they offer for project execution,” he concluded.
