Water treatment and filtration technologies with the Water Enterprises Association

At a recent meeting with the Water Enterprises Association (GKP “Astana Su Arnası”), the chairman and executive director participated. The Association represents the interests of companies in the sector and promotes initiatives to the government for industry regulation. The meeting focused on key technologies for water treatment.

One of the main topics was water purification, which involves physical and chemical processes to remove impurities and contaminants. Methods such as coagulation and flocculation, which help settle suspended particles, and reverse osmosis, used for desalination and heavy metal removal, were discussed.

Another key point was contaminant absorption, where materials like activated carbon effectively capture harmful substances. This technology is particularly efficient in removing organic chemicals and compounds that affect water taste and odor.

Industrial wastewater treatment was also addressed. Technologies such as biodegradation of waste, the use of advanced membrane filters, and chemical oxidation to eliminate persistent contaminants were explored.

Finally, solutions for filtration and odor removal were reviewed, essential for improving drinking water quality and urban wastewater treatment. Sand, carbon, and biological filters were discussed as effective methods for eliminating odor-causing compounds.

Through this collaboration, the goal is to implement innovations that enhance water management and ensure its quality across various sectors.
