Engineering for water and waste treatment of interest in Uzbekistan

Solutions for water and solid waste treatment are of interest to state and private organizations in Uzbekistan. This has been confirmed by Eduard Gulian, CEO of ACIR Southern Europe and Spanish companies participating in the business mission carried out in Tashkent and Samarkand from November 22 to December 2.

The renowned Spanish experience, as well as the correspondence between quality and price, move various sectors to turn their gaze to European production.

Water and sanitation projects

During the meeting with officials from the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of Uzbekistan, led by its Deputy Minister Sakhib Saifnazarov, we analyzed the projects that the country has been promoting and the opportunities they represent for European companies interested in participating in them. The existing alternatives were analyzed in detail, as well as the conditions that the country offers for foreign companies.

Of special interest to the Uzbek side are the sanitation programs, industrial water treatment, desalination and laying of new drinking water transmission channels.

Eduard Gulian, for his part, indicated that the ACIR ecosystem has various specialized European companies that are available for the execution of the projects, including in some cases, the possibilities of managing the financing of the initiatives.

This format was well received by Deputy Minister Sainazarov who assured the country’s willingness to access modern European technologies and the possibility of technological exchange that benefits the country.

The parties agreed to continue meetings of the ministry’s work teams and the ACIR project office in Tashkent to find projects in which European companies can participate.

Subcontracting for engineering projects

Other meetings held in Uzbekistan by ACIR partners and its CEO were with companies in the project engineering sector. With each of them, the alternatives for cooperation in joint projects or in EPC format were evaluated.

The Spanish companies recognized the high technical level of their local partners and the collaboration alternatives that are open for the execution of projects in Uzbekistan.

“The meetings we have had in Tashkent have allowed our partners to thoroughly evaluate the suitability of their potential Uzbek partners. In each of the meetings, both of the management and technical teams, the high professionalism of the parties has been highlighted.

As a result, we have signed agreements of intent based on which we will prepare other complementary documents for participation in public tenders and purchases carried out in the country.

Our project office in Tashkent will be in charge of managing all processes and will coordinate the details of future cooperation with the country’s institutional organizations.
