The Trade House of Uzbekistan in Barcelona will also have exhibition space, which will allow visitors to familiarize themselves with Uzbek products. This is a great opportunity for Spanish and European consumers to learn about and purchase quality products from Uzbekistan that were previously unavailable on the market.

The opening of this Trade House is the result of the joint work of ACIR project office in Tashkent and the Uztextileprom association. The cooperation of these two organizations has created a space that helps Uzbek companies expand in the international market, providing them with tools and consulting on business issues in Spain and Europe.

Opening ceremony

The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Spain Jahongir Ganiva, Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan in Barcelona Pere Visens Rahola, Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan in Valencia Jose Maria Chiquillo Barbera, President of Uztextileprom Ilkhoma Khaidarova, directors of the internationalization department of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, and a delegation of more than 30 Uzbek companies who arrived in Barcelona.

In his speech, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Spain noted the contribution that reforms in his country’s government are making to foreign trade, allowing more foreign companies to be present. He also emphasized that attracting investment, high-quality goods, and services from Spain is a priority for his country.

In turn, ACIR Southern Europe President Eduard Gulyan thanked the numerous Uzbek delegation and stated that Spanish-Uzbek relations are strengthened with this trade house.

“Today is undoubtedly a historic day in Uzbek-Spanish relations. The first Trade House of Uzbekistan opens its doors with an important export offer and a multitude of tools that will allow companies to break into the markets of Central Asia and Southern Europe.

This important step complements the projects we are implementing and developing in Uzbekistan with European companies and which cover such diverse sectors as the textile industry, agro-industry, water treatment, renewable energy, food and beverages, as well as institutional and commercial representation of regions such as Samarkand and Madrid,” Gulyan emphasized.

Opportunities for Uzbek companies

According to the regional director of ACIR Southern Europe for Central Asia, Miguel de la Cruz, the Trade House of Uzbekistan will be the main tool for trade between the two continents.

“The Trade House aims to optimize various processes in foreign trade. Starting from representation, participation in commercial events, presentation of showcase products, and most importantly, finding buyers, distributors, and partners for companies. If we add to this the business ecosystem tools of ACIR, which include payment, insurance, logistics, and storage systems, we can solve practically all import-export issues of products and services,” he said.

For his part, Yegor Zhunyaev, director of the ACIR project office in Kazakhstan, noted that the company’s work is being carried out in parallel and in a complementary manner.

“Our work is aimed not only at popularizing business and investment opportunities, but also at getting countries more closely acquainted with their culture, traditions, and values.”

He also noted new areas of work that ACIR is implementing, which cover such sectors as fish farming, animal husbandry, fertilizers, international certification, laboratories, and engineering services.
