Spanish waste treatment technology presented at WasteTech in a Eurasian country

Spanish technology for solid waste treatment was one of the main topics at the sector’s most important event, held in the Eurasian capital.
ACIR Southern Europe participated in the 13th edition of WasteTech; the most prominent event in the waste management, environmental technologies, and renewable energy sector within the region. It hosted more than 5,000 visitors and featured twenty countries, including Spain, represented by the partners of ACIR.

Circular economy as a current trend 

The Alliance, along with its Spanish partners, presented integrated solid waste management systems aimed at creating conditions for effective processing through resource optimization, material reuse, and maximizing the energy used.
First, this innovative system shifts away from the traditional model of selective waste collection and primary sorting. Instead, it transitions to a highly automated process that is much greener and resource-efficient, as it eliminates the need for extensive infrastructure, specialized packaging, containers, bins, and all the additional logistics associated with collection.
Second, it brings a positive environmental impact by moving away from outdated practices such as landfilling and incineration.
Finally, the ease of transport, installation, and overall mobility have made this Spanish venture one of the most attractive proposals at WasteTech 2021.

Uzbekistan shows interest in Iberian ecological technology

During the trade fair, ACIR specialists also held meetings with public and private sector representatives from Uzbekistan, who attended the event in search of solutions tailored to their specific needs.
The Uzbek participants highlighted the innovative proposals of the Spanish companies and the benefits they offer for project implementation:
    • Sterilization and processing technology based on the use of high-pressure steam.
    • Modular configuration based on compact reactors tailored to the needs of a specific settlement or region.
    • Processing container capacity of up to 40,000 tons of waste per year, or serving up to 100,000 people.
    • Processing cycle duration of just 30 minutes.
    • Clean separation of various types of secondary raw materials.
    • Processing of all organic matter.
    • Complete elimination of pathogens, liquids, and unpleasant odors.

An agreement was reached with the Uzbek partners to begin negotiations to establish a roadmap. This will facilitate the introduction of Iberian technology from this sector into the country and the development of PPP projects in other regions.

A significant trend in today’s world is the adoption of Spanish technology for solid waste treatment, recognized for its high level of modernization, market-adjusted costs, and the availability of specialized technical support.
Compared to other countries offering similar technologies, the Spanish proposal stands out for its simplicity and commitment to environmental protection.
