Central Asian Investors Learn About Investment Opportunities in Madrid

Fifty participants attended the practical seminar “Investment and Business Opportunities in the Community of Madrid” organized by ACIR Southern Europe, Invest in Madrid, and Madrid Foro Empresarial. The event also featured the presence of H.E. Marcos Gómez, Ambassador of Spain in Uzbekistan, H.E. Jakhongir Ganiev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Spain, and Beatriz Muñoz, Advisor to the Embassy of Spain in Kazakhstan.

During the practical seminar, the facilities offered by the Community of Madrid for foreign companies, the climate for investments, and the facilities available to foreign companies and investors were shared.

Madrid, Gateway to Europe

During his presentation, the Ambassador of Spain in Uzbekistan, Marcos Gómez, highlighted the importance of Madrid as a gateway to Europe for foreign companies and the growing interest among investors and companies in the Spanish market. He emphasized the facilities offered by the Community of Madrid and the favorable climate for investments.

For his part, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Spain, Jakhonguir Ganiev, emphasized the importance of commercial and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Spain and applauded the initiative of ACIR Southern Europe, Invest in Madrid, and Madrid Foro Empresarial to promote foreign investment in Madrid.

Finally, the Advisor to the Embassy of Spain in Kazakhstan, Beatriz Muñoz González, highlighted the importance of collaboration between Spain and the countries of Central Asia, which is reflected in the various actions that both countries carry out at both government and private levels. She emphasized the Embassy’s willingness to support companies and investors interested in establishing themselves in Madrid.

Joint Projects between Central Asia and Spain

During the practical seminar, which brought together Uzbek and Kazakh investors and companies in the textile, nuts, carpets, silk, and information technology sectors, experts in different areas participated and shared relevant information for foreign investors interested in establishing themselves in Madrid.

One of the standout participants was the CEO of ACIR Southern Europe, Eduard Gulián, who shared the joint projects that the company is developing. Gulián spoke about the projects with capital from Central Asia that are being implemented in Madrid and other initiatives to be developed in the future, such as the textile hub in Madrid or the Silk Road district.

On the other hand, the specialists from Invest in Madrid, led by their director Luis Socias, shared the facilities offered by the Community of Madrid, as well as the instruments that foreign investors can use to establish and expand in Madrid. Diego de Arístegui, Director of Projects at Invest in Madrid, emphasized the human and material resources available in the Spanish capital, as well as its strategic global position that allows companies to access other continents.

Finally, the responsible parties for the digitalization, Paloma Cañete; legal issues, Manuel Lamela; and R&D&I and business opportunities of MFE, Alberto Silleras; participated in the seminar, contributing their knowledge and experience on these topics to provide a more comprehensive view of the opportunities and facilities offered by Madrid to foreign investors. The participation of Madrid Foro Empresarial was highly noteworthy, as it allowed attendees to learn about the most relevant aspects of innovation, legal issues, and digitalization in Madrid.
