Agrologistics sector, greenhouses, and Spanish technology for Central Asia

The agrologistics sector, greenhouses, and Spanish technology are drawing significant interest from Central Asian countries, particularly Uzbekistan. A large group of Spanish entrepreneurs arrived there as part of a business mission organized by ACIR Southern Europe.
During the meetings held with government authorities, businessmen, and executives from sectoral organizations, various topics of interest were addressed. Prominent among them were the manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance of greenhouses; the creation of refrigeration systems for products; the creation, optimization, and management of agro-industrial logistics centers in the country; and technical assistance in planting and cultivating export products.
Spanish greenhouse project for export
One of the projects actively developed by ACIR Southern Europe is the construction of Spanish greenhouses and related services. In this regard, opportunities for including Spanish companies that are partners of ACIR in the projects being developed by the country, as well as the conditions for participation, were discussed with local authorities. Interaction mechanisms and funding sources for the initiatives were also analyzed.
“Our proposal has been received with enthusiasm by the Uzbek counterpart, as it allows for the diversification of the countries participating in the projects. Colleagues have highlighted the quality of Iberian production and the opportunities opening up for them in the Uzbek and Central Asian markets through our cooperation. We are confident that with the creation of the working groups we have agreed upon, we will soon succeed in establishing several member companies of the Alliance in Uzbekistan,” highlighted Miguel de la Cruz Salcedo, MD of ACIR in Madrid.
In a meeting with members of the private sector, possibilities for cooperation between companies and their sectoral organizations were discussed, alongside the exchange of best practices through specialized conferences and business visits within the framework of the project developed by ACIR.
They agreed to create a roadmap to clearly establish the needs of the parties and the trade opportunities opening up for them.
Land, crop, and product management
Another aspect addressed during the visit was the management of land, crops, and agricultural products. There is a growing demand among Uzbek producers for the acquisition of and support with European technology to modernize and technify their processes.
The members of ACIR presented the solutions offered by their partners and the available financing alternatives in this regard.
The parties agreed to create working groups to thoroughly study complementary alternatives to the proposals, which could include state support, the possibility of carrying out Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects, and the provision of preferences for joint projects between companies
