Water treatment sector demands European companies

The water treatment sector is a growing market in Central Asia and represents a great opportunity for companies from Southern Europe. According to data from the State Committee of Statistics of Uzbekistan, the production of drinking water in the country increased by 7.2% in 2021 compared to the previous year. Additionally, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan reported that water demand in the country has increased by 70% over the last ten years.

These data demonstrate that there is a great need for water treatment infrastructure in the region, which means there are many business opportunities for companies offering water treatment solutions. Uzbekistan

Kazakhstan

1. Construction of a water treatment plant in the city of Almaty.
2. Supply and installation of water treatment equipment in the city of Nur-Sultan.
3. Modernization of wastewater treatment infrastructure in the city of Shymkent.
4. Development of a water quality monitoring system in the Irtysh River basin.
5. Implementation of a wastewater treatment project for the oil industry in the Atyrau region.
