Opportunities in the development of small hydropower plants in Uzbekistan

International collaboration for hydropower development

Together with our European partners, we have analyzed various options for participating in the small hydropower construction program in Uzbekistan. This project is a priority for the country, as confirmed by the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

We are currently working with an international bank that is financing the program’s master plan. At the same time, our experts are collaborating with bank specialists to define the guarantees that will support private investment, ensuring a solid financial framework for interested investors.

Selection of EPC companies and strategic planning

In addition to financial and regulatory work, we have advanced in coordinating engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies for project development. Five potential candidates have been identified: two Spanish companies, one Italian, and two French.

Our team in Europe and Central Asia continues to drive the necessary efforts for the effective implementation of these initiatives. Collaboration with local and international experts is key to the program’s success and attracting foreign investment into Uzbekistan’s energy sector.
