ACIR Southern Europe, a specialist in trade and investment relations between Central Asia and Southern Europe, has carried out a significant initiative in collaboration with its Uzbek partner Uzbekexpertisa to expand the range of product and service certifications that can be made based on European standards and under improved conditions.
Benefits for the laboratory, certification and vocational training sector
ACIR Southern Europe and Uzbekexpertisa, in a joint and coordinated effort, have worked in recent months to increase the number of European certifications that can be issued directly from Uzbekistan. This significant expansion would not have been possible without the strategic alliances that ACIR Southern Europe has meticulously formed. These alliances, which include various certification and laboratory testing companies located in southern Europe, have enabled greater accessibility and efficiency in certification processes, benefiting both businesses and consumers. This is a significant step that demonstrates the commitment of both organizations to improve and facilitate certification processes in the region.
In addition to the certifications, laboratory tests will also be made available for interested Central Asian businesses. These tests will include analysis of chemicals, harmful substances, industrial waters, microbiology, and more.
These alliances with laboratories and certification companies in Southern Europe will not only increase the quantity and variety of available certifications, but will also provide valuable vocational training in these fields. This will strengthen the ability of businesses in Central Asia to comply with European standards, thus enhancing their competitiveness in the global market.
Opportunities for export to new markets
Obtaining certifications is a crucial step to facilitate and expand foreign trade with Southern Europe. These certificates verify that the products comply with European standards of quality, safety, and sustainability, which is a requirement for their export. Here are three examples of certificates necessary for export to Southern Europe:
- Certificate of Origin: This document certifies the country of origin of a product, which can affect the amount of tariffs to be paid. It may also be necessary to comply with local content rules.
- Global GAP Certificate: This certificate ensures that the product has been produced following Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). It is especially relevant for agricultural products and is recognized worldwide.
- OEKO-TEX Certificate: This certificate guarantees that the product has been tested for harmful substances and meets global human ecological criteria. It is especially relevant for textiles and leathers.
