ACIR, ONCE and Uzbekistan advance a strategic agenda for inclusion projects

Joint roadmap for accessibility and investment

In Madrid, ACIR Southern Europe held a strategic meeting with Fundación ONCE and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Spain to define cooperation lines focused on inclusive infrastructure and social development in Central Asia.

Key initiatives include:

• Launch of training programs for Uzbek social workers, based on Spanish methodology.

• Implementation of comprehensive accessibility projects, covering transport, infrastructure and digital platforms, with technical guidance from ONCE.

Urban development and tourism adaptation

ACIR acts as European representative in the urban development of Samarkand’s new satellite city, where accessibility will be embedded from the planning stage.

Tourism infrastructure, including hotels and associated services, will also be upgraded to meet international accessibility standards — opening space for new European investments.

This coordinated initiative strengthens ACIR’s role as a facilitator of complex, high-value projects between Southern Europe and Central Asia.
