Pharmaceutical sector expansion in Uzbekistan with ACIR support

The Regional Director for Central Asia at ACIR Southern Europe, Miguel de la Cruz, visited the facilities of one of our key pharmaceutical partners in Uzbekistan. During the visit, project progress was reviewed, and the next steps were outlined to strengthen collaboration.

Currently, ACIR and its Uzbek partner are working in three key areas to boost sector growth:

1. Expansion of production capacity. Strategies are being implemented to optimize existing infrastructure and increase medication manufacturing capacity to meet local and international demand.

2. Implementation of new European technologies. Technology and knowledge transfer are crucial to improving production processes and ensuring compliance with international quality standards.

3. Attracting foreign investment. ACIR facilitates access to investors interested in supporting the modernization and expansion of the pharmaceutical industry in Uzbekistan.

These initiatives are part of ACIR’s strategy to strengthen industrial capabilities in Central Asia, creating development opportunities and fostering cooperation between European and Uzbek companies.
