Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade invites ACIR and its companies to invest in Uzbekistan

Miguel de la Cruz Salcedo, Regional Director for Central Asia of ACIR Southern Europe, was invited by the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and its agency for attracting foreign investments, to a working meeting with the aim of analyzing the country’s investment projects. During the meeting, they discussed the possible participation of European companies in these projects and the benefits offered by the country for each of them.

In addition, a comprehensive analysis of the various sectors of the Uzbek economy was carried out. This analysis not only included a detailed review of each of the sectors, but also highlighted the investment opportunities that each of them offers. This opened a dialogue on how European companies can actively participate in these investment projects. The advantages and benefits offered by the country in each sector, from agriculture and industry to technology and services, were highlighted.

ACIR Southern Europe: Bridge for European companies

During the meeting, Miguel de la Cruz emphasized that the experience of ACIR Southern Europe will allow the presence of Spanish and Italian companies in Uzbekistan’s strategic projects. ACIR offers quality services, guarantee in the new technologies to be used, as well as various financing mechanisms for the projects.

ACIR Southern Europe serves as a key business platform that brings together the most outstanding companies from Southern Europe. Its main objective is to facilitate and promote the participation of these companies in trade and investment projects in Central Asia, providing a vital connection between these two economic regions.

It should be noted that the sectors in which these companies show the most interest include agriculture, where they seek to optimize production and ensure sustainability; water treatment, a key sector for the sustainable management of water resources; and medicine, where innovation and development are fundamental.

In addition, construction is also highlighted among the sectors of interest, with a focus on sustainable construction and the creation of resilient infrastructure. The food sector is another relevant area, where companies seek to improve food quality and safety, as well as to meet the growing demand for high-quality food products. Finally, tourism is a sector in which Southern European companies have a great interest, with the aim of developing competitive and sustainable tourist services that can attract visitors from all over the world.

Future explorations and collaborations

It was agreed to continue exploring projects that may be interesting for companies from southern Europe, thus reinforcing the role of ACIR Southern Europe as a specialist in trade and investment relations between Central Asia and Southern Europe.

ACIR Southern Europe, in its commitment to promoting investment and trade, will present a broad and diversified portfolio of European companies ready to work in the region. This portfolio will include companies from sectors as varied as agriculture, water treatment, medicine, construction, food and tourism. In addition, not only will the companies be presented, but successful cases will also be shown. These cases will serve as valuable experience and example for the investment promotion agency of Uzbekistan, demonstrating the capabilities and potential of the companies.

On their part, the investment promotion agency of Uzbekistan will provide detailed and updated information about the strategic projects they plan to implement in the year 2024. This information will include, among other things, detailed descriptions of the projects, the sectors they involve, the necessary resources and the expected benefits of each of them. In addition, the agency will share the execution mechanisms they offer to carry out these projects, thus providing Southern European companies with a clear and complete view of investment opportunities in Uzbekistan.
