Engineering and consulting as a strategic pillar

Engineering and consulting projects have long been a core area of ACIR Southern Europe’s activity in Central Asia. In 2025, this sector continued to expand, driven by the strong complementarity between European technological expertise and regional development needs.

Water treatment projects

Water treatment represents one of the most important areas of activity. European companies, supported by ACIR, have proposed solutions for wastewater treatment, industrial water treatment, desalination and purification, mainly in Uzbekistan and also in Kazakhstan.
Regions such as Karakalpakstan, Samarkand and Tashkent have benefited from these initiatives, which also include financing options through European and international funds coordinated by ACIR.

Irrigation and agro-industrial development

In the field of irrigation, European technologies have been successfully combined with Central Asia’s agro-industrial development. Projects include modern irrigation systems, integrated monitoring solutions and professional training programs, enabling solid commercial and technological cooperation.

Aquaculture projects

Although aquaculture projects are still under development, progress made in 2025 has allowed companies and experts to explore European capabilities in this sector. Current discussions focus on fish farm optimization, zoning of rivers and lakes, AI-based monitoring and captive breeding technologies.

Medical equipment and healthcare consulting

By the end of 2025, the medical equipment sector saw new project launches. Innovative solutions from Italian and Spanish companies have enabled the development of private clinics equipped with modern technologies and specialist training programs. ACIR also provides healthcare consulting services, including medical management systems, patient records management and occupational safety.
